Glyn entered the School, aged 11, as a County Scholar and was School Captain in 1963 – 64. In the early 1960s he was, for a number of years, a member of the highly successful 1st XV Rugby and 1st XI Cricket teams. He was an exceptional linguist and went on to study Modern Languages at Jesus College, Cambridge.

We hope to publish a fuller tribute to Glyn in the near future.

Message from Mike Hodgkins (ON 1959-1966)

I became a young member of D.C.Haywood’s 1st XI in 1963/64 when Glyn was a senior member of the side, and a formidable opening bowler. I remember his gentleness and laughter; he was full of encouragement for the younger members of the team. Of all the School Captains that I can recall during my NHS years, Glyn was the one whom I looked up to most and to whom I aspired to be like.
