Geoff was known as ‘haggis’ by his friends. He joined the school in 1964 when his family moved down to Nottingham from the Manchester area. He had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for a number of years but appeared to be getting better when he suffered a stroke/seizure and died in a nursing home.

He was in Whites house.  A good footballer and thought to be a great fast bowler when he bowled out Peter Johnson in the nets. He didn’t live up to his potential in cricket but achieved 1st Team colours for cross-country running.

After gaining a degree in African History at SOAS,  his career was in state education, first in London and later in the North-West.

He was a big Manchester United fan. He was married and leaves twin sons, Matthew & David. His last years were spent in Leek cared for by his wonderful partner, Sue and supported by his formidable sister Angela. His father, Frank is still alive.
