Chris was a pupil from 1961 to 1968 and was a stylish figure, always with hair a little longer than regulation, but somehow managing to get away with it.

The first with a souped-up Lambretta TVR at 16; he built himself a tremendous Lotus 6 racer at the age of 17 and moved through to other notable models such as an E-Type, a Jensen, a Bristol, a brace of Lotus, a Mercedes (or three) and, when family arrived, a nice practical and boxy Volvo.

After an honours degree in philosophy Chris had a distinguished career in IBM before semi-retiring early and enjoying a huge motor home and a large motor cruiser on the Thames. He had four children with Lydia, his Nottingham born wife.

Importantly he kept up the close friendships from NHS, with the four of us remaining very close for over 55 years.
